One of the core features of our Reporting services has been tracking and recording all searches conducted by visitors using your locator. For example, when a customer enters an address into the search field, we record this search location and the closest store that was returned so that you can assess which stores are receiving the most traffic. You can of course also use this information to map out the best potential future store locations to be able to capture customers searching in a particular area that is currently not well served.
We've now launched an additional Reporting capability which is full click tracking within the locator. The situation before now was that if you wanted to know how many times a particular visitor had clicked on a store name in your locator or how many times they had visited an external website by clicking the website link, we couldn't tell you. In fact, the only real way to do this was to use Google Analytics and link it into our locator via a script that we supplied for this same purpose.
Now, all clicks made by visitors on store names and links (including website links (internal and external), phone numbers, Facebook pages, Twitter links, email addresses and any custom fields that you might have added to your locator are tracked automatically by our store locator software. This information is available on the 'Clicks' menu item under the Reports section in our admin console.
We'll be adding trend charts to the Activity page soon to run alongside the existing trend charts for the Search analytics. As always, if you have any suggestions for how we can improve these new pages just let us know!
