You may have noticed that it can take a few minutes for your store locator to register any changes that you've made in our admin panel such as adding or removing stores or changing some of the settings. The reason for this is that we use caches on our Content Distribution Network to maximise the speed with which the data required by your locator is sent to the web browser. These caches are only designed to check back in with our admin servers once every few minutes to see if the store data has changed which in normal circumstances is fine but can be frustrating when you want to check the result of any changes that you've made.
There's two ways to get around this issue and immediately see the impact of any changes you have made to your locator configuration or location list:
1. Use the Preview page - this always loads data directly from our management servers so will always be up to date with any changes that you've made.
2. Add the parameter 'refresh=immediate' to the URL of the page on which your store locator is hosted. For example, if the store locator is on 'www.example.com/locator', the following URL will force the locator to load data directly from our management servers: 'www.example.com/locator?refresh=immediate'
A word of warning - we don't advise using the 'refresh=immediate' parameter for your live visitors - whilst it's always up to date with the latest changes, this will result in slower store locator load times for production usage.
